FULL LIST OF EVERYTHING ANNOUNCED TODAY
So far, 2021 has given us Kaldheim, Strixhaven: School of Mages, Modern Horizons 2, and Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms. It also brought Magic the Gathering Arena to mobile devices for the first time. Let's see what 2022 has in store for us.
Announcement #1: In-store play is back. We're bringing back FNMs for the first time in 18 months, and they can be in any format that your store wishes.
Announcement #2: Prereleases will, in addition to Sealed Deck, include new things that you can do instead if you prefer. These new options are not specified, but they are said to be for new players, social players, and commander players, and will feature an emphasis on multiplayer games. Note that this is IN ADDITION TO normal prereleases, not instead of them.
Announcement #3: The Magic the Gathering Companion app allows you to register for events through the app, serves as a life tracker, see your standings in the event, get notified when a round begins, run unofficial events at home through the app, and browse a card database. All in one app. This is not actually new news, so I don't know why it's here.
Announcement #4: Store Championships are coming back. Stores can choose between one of four different formats to run their events: Standard, Modern, Pioneer, or Limited. The winner of each Store Championship receives a foil Wurmcoil Engine. Anyone in the Top 8 will receive a foil Collected Company. And anyone who participates at all will receive an Arbor Elf just for showing up. The Collected Company and Wurmcoil Engine promos will also be emblazoned with the name of each individual store on them, making them truly unique.
Announcement #5: New event: Commander Parties. Everyone in the store plays multiplayer Commander games, but things that you do in your game can affect things in other games, as all players in the store try to navigate through a story. The first story involves navigating the world of Innistrad. Winning doesn't matter, there are no prizes, it's just for the fun of experiencing the story. Anyone who shows up will receive a participation promo card.
Announcement #6: The next set, as previously known, is Innistrad: Midnight Hunt, which will be about werewolves. The storyline is that the day/night balance is now out of whack, and the werewolves are now trying to take over the plane and harvest its resources. More details and preview cards to be shown on a stream on September 2nd at 9AM Pacific. Joe Manganiello, who played Alcide Herveaux on True Blood (so, y'know, a werewolf) will be on this stream. Jimmy Wong will be there too. Innistrad: Midnight Hunt launches on September 24th.
Announcement #7: Following Midnight Hunt is Innistrad: Crimson Vow, on November 19th. The storyline here is a vampire wedding. The bride will be Olivia Voldaren. She is aiming to team up with the groom in order to take over all of Innistrad. The identity of the groom has not yet been announced.
Announcement #8: Coming in 2022, we will see Innistrad: Double Feature, a set of booster packs that can include cards from either of the two Innistrad sets, Midnight Hunt or Crimson Vow. These will be exclusively sold in LGSes, and not in big-box stores. They are designed to be a fun draft experience.
Announcement #9: Exclusively found in Innistrad: Double Feature will be alternate-art versions of these cards, with art inspired by monster movies.
Announcement #10: More content will be coming to Magic Arena. Details not specified.
Announcement #11: When Innistrad: Midnight Hunt is released, it will cause Throne of Eldraine, Theros Beyond Death, Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths, and Core Set 2021 to rotate out of Standard. I have no idea why this qualifies as an announcement.
Announcement #12: Along with Standard Rotation, players on Magic Arena can use the Renewal Egg. This will provide you with new goodies, including Innistrad: Midnight Hunt packs, when rotation occurs.
Announcement #13: Historic Brawl will now require 100 cards instead of 60. Additionally, the format will be available on Magic Arena indefinitely, regardless of time of day or day of the week.
Announcement #14: Arena Opens will be offering new formats, including draft.

These are available in either foil or non-foil, so choose whichever you prefer. Additionally, it comes with a double-sided Snake/Zombie token. This product is exclusive to LGSes. All cards feature art that focuses on black legendary creature characters. (Basically just the black version of Commander Collection: Green.)
Announcement #17: Challenger Decks 2021 are coming, and this time, they're for the Pioneer format. They're based on top-level competitive decks, and are a great starting point into the Pioneer format. The four decks are an Azorius Spirits deck, an Orzhov Aura deck, a mono-red burn deck, and a Sultai deck revolving around the Lotus Field combo. These come with decks, sideboards, and deck boxes. Available October 15th. Decklists are already available on Wizards.com.
Announcement #18: Assassination attempts have been made on Ral Zarek, Vraska, and Kaya. Jace Beleren is also in trouble.
